Privacy policy

Comments
When someone leaves a comment on our site, we collect the information they enter in the comment form, their IP address, and their browser type. This helps us detect and stop spam.

If you use the Gravatar service, we may send a hidden version of your email address (called a hash) to check if you have a Gravatar account. You can read Gravatar’s privacy policy here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture (if you have one) will be visible to everyone next to your comment.

Media
If you upload images to the site, avoid including location data (like GPS) in the images. People who visit the site can download the images and see the location information.

Cookies
If you leave a comment, you can choose to save your name, email, and website in cookies. This is for your convenience, so you don’t have to fill in your details again if you leave another comment. These cookies last for one year.

If you visit the login page, we set a temporary cookie to check if your browser allows cookies. This cookie doesn’t have any personal information and is deleted when you close your browser.

When you log in, we set cookies to save your login details and screen preferences. Login cookies last for two days, and screen preference cookies last for a year. If you click “Remember Me,” your login will stay active for two weeks. If you log out, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, we save an extra cookie in your browser. This cookie doesn’t have personal data and only shows the ID of the article you edited. It expires after one day.

Embedded Content
Articles on this site may include embedded content like videos, images, or articles from other websites. This content works as if you visited the other website directly.

Those websites may collect data about you, use cookies, or track your interaction with the embedded content, especially if you’re logged into that website.

Who We Share Your Data With
If you ask for a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

How Long We Keep Your Data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its details are kept forever. This helps us automatically approve follow-up comments instead of holding them for review.

For users who register on our site, we store the personal information they provide in their profile. Users can see, edit, or delete their information anytime (except their username). Site administrators can also see and edit this information.

Your Rights Over Your Data
If you have an account or have left comments, you can ask for a file of the personal data we have about you. You can also ask us to delete your data. This doesn’t include data we must keep for legal or security reasons.

Where Your Data Is Sent
Comments may be checked by an automated spam detection service.
